Sci-Fi story Chapter II

      I opened my eyes, I was in warehouse of some kind, tied to a chair. There was a lot of empty space between me and anything that could cut me loose. I struggled a bit to see that I can get out of the ropes but I couldn’t. I heard an argument between some people in the room on the other side of the warehouse. Probably the people who tied me to this chair. But I was not going to wait and see why I’m here. So I looked around again and saw that there was a piece of glass stuck to my shoe, probably from the explosion. Lucky me so I reached for the glass and I managed to cut through the ropes. So I started to sneak closer to the voices, until I noticed a lot of boxes. Thought what the hell maybe there is something useful in them. I opened one and in my surprise it was full of weapons. I though oh god this is not good, I have seen these weapons before and those are not human weapons. I know because I have used them before. MRX-29 rifle with incendiary rounds, just then I had a flashback of the war in Sylon, all the killing and explosions, suddenly snapped out of it and was thrown back 5 feet felt like I was punched to the chest. When I recovered I thought no I will not let my past caught up with me, too much painful memories. I jumped up and got the gun. I moved silently ahead until I heard that someone said „I need to check on him go get the scanner from the car“. Suddenly the door opened in front of me, I managed to jump behind those boxes. When the guy walked passed me I was able to sneak up and hit him with my gun. I dragged him out of sight, I went through his pockets but I found nothing not even a wallet, thought it was a bit strange but I didn’t make much of it. He was also wearing a vest, but it was no ordinary vest, it was part of the exoskeleton armor used by mercenaries from the planet Anthos. „Damn“ I thought by myself, if these guys are sent after me it has to be bad. More important how did they find out that I was on Earth. I only told one person about it and that means that they got to him. Why did I tell him, I knew it wasn’t going to end well. So I put on the vest and moved on to the room quietly, fortunately there was no one there. In the middle of the room there was a big desk, on the desk there was a map. It was a map of USA and they made circles around the biggest cities Washington, LA, New York, Las Vegas. I figured that wasn’t good, I looked closer and saw writings. It was in Arcanan at least one of the dialects of it. The writings said „Point of interest, collect and destroy“. Suddenly there was a squeaking of the door, I managed to jump behind the table. They carried some sort of a machine with them. They placed it down and I aimed at them and stood up, as I was about to ask a question the door behind me opened and there was the guy I knocked out with a gun, so I reacted and shot him first. The same time the other two pulled their weapons and started shooting at me. They separated and took cover, it was silent. I started a cover fire and ran and jumped out of the door next to me. One guy ran after me but I was waiting behind the door and grabbed his gun and hit him with it. The other guy started shooting even though the first guy was in the way, I managed to cover myself with his body and got him to the chest, they both fell down. I reloaded my weapon and was ready for more but nothing happened, so I lowered my weapon. I went to the guy who seemed most alive and was coughing. I took the gun from his hand and threw it away and I asked „Who are you working for, I want a name“, he just looked at me and laughed and reached for his sleeve and pushed a button, I had forgot that Anthos soldiers have self-destruction built in to their suits, so I started to run to the exit. When I opened the door there was an explosion and I felt heat back of my head and the shockwave threw me forward at least 15 feet. And the result of that I blacked out again. I remember vaguely a face that told everything is going to be ok, don’t worry and I blacked out again.
Woke up in some room again, this time I was in bed. I gathered up my strength and got out of bed to look out the window, I didn’t believe it, I was looking at earth, in space. The same time a door opened I turned around and there was this woman there. I said “Hey” She smiled and said Hey back.
I asked “Who are you and how did I get here and where here is exactly”
She said: “I’m a doctor, you got banged up pretty bad out there, fortunately we have medicaptule so you’ll be in your maximum health in a couple of hours.”
Me: “But where am I and what’s going on?”
Doctor: “Don’t worry all your questions will be answered, rest for now”
She walked out, I thought ok what have you got yourself into this time. I looked around and headed to the door, I saw the doctor swipe his hand over the box next to the door so I figured it was to open the door, so I tried it. Door displayed text “Not authorized access”. So I looked around more and sat on the bed when I noticed a camera in the corner so I figured I play along this time and went to sleep.
